SANFORD - Central Carolina Community College golf coach Jonathan Hockaday looks forward to coaching the 2021 edition of the CCCC golf team.

"I am excited to see how the guys improve throughout the year. They have put in a lot of work in the last month and are excited to begin competition," said Coach Hockaday. "I think the guys are capable of competing to win tournaments individually. With last season being cancelled due to COVID, we are all excited to be out there playing and competing again."

Members of the team are sophomores Lee Bass (Triton High School, Dunn) and Gabriel Osborne (Homeschool, Sanford), and freshman Cole McBurnett (Southern Lee High School, Sanford).

"All of our guys have shown that they are very consistent ball strikers from tee to green. I think that they can continue to improve on their chipping and putting and will see their scores go down during the season," said Coach Hockaday.

"All of the guys are very passionate about golf and really want to continue to improve," said Coach Hockaday. "I am excited to see how all the work they have been putting in will pay off and I am excited to see them compete and have a chance to win some golf tournaments."

The schedule:

March 1-2 - CCCC Cougar Classic at Quail Ridge Golf Course, 29-30 - at Flyer Invitational at Longleaf Golf Course.

April 5-6 - at Davidson-Davie CC Tournament at Winding Creek Golf Course, 19 - Regional Tournament at Quail Ridge Golf Course, 20 - Regional Tournament at Whispering Pines Golf Course.
