SANFORD - Due to the seriousness of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) global pandemic, Central Carolina Community College is extending student spring break through the week of March 16-20.
The measure is being taken to help mitigate the spread of Coronavirus while also allowing CCCC faculty the necessary time to transition some coursework to an online format.
College & Career Readiness (Adult High School, ESL, High School Equivalency) and Workforce Continuing Education classes will continue as normal. Any shifts to schedules will be communicated directly to those students before or during class from March 16-20.
The full list of courses that will transition to an online format will be posted on the CCCC web page no later than March 18. Students are encouraged to check their Cougarmail accounts and Blackboard daily during week of March 16-20 for communication from faculty about the potential transition to an online format.
College operations will remain open but may have limited services in some areas.
A comprehensive communication about student and academic support offered during this transition will be sent by the Student Services Division to students via Cougarmail.
High school students enrolled in college coursework are encouraged to check Cougarmail for updates, as some high school sections with specific requirements may choose to meet March 16-20.
Students who do not regularly use Blackboard and are new to distance learning can learn how to navigate online learning by reviewing the resources and videos at www.cccc.edu/distanceeducation/current-students. Students who require additional assistance with getting started via distance education can reach out to de@cccc.edu with any questions.
Increased custodial services are being provided in those areas that will be in use by students and employees.
No cases of Coronavirus have been identified on Central Carolina Community College campuses. The college's President's Council will reassess the situation and review further measures as developments warrant.
Central Carolina Community College will continue to post updates on its Coronavirus response page at www.cccc.edu/coronavirus.
