Dr. Lisa M. Chapman chosen as CCCC President, pending State Board of Community Colleges approval

UPDATE: Dr. Lisa M. Chapman has been approved to become the sixth president of Central Carolina Community College. The State Board of Community Colleges gave its approval at its Friday, Jan. 18, meeting.

The Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) Board of Trustees has chosen Lisa M. Chapman, Ed.D., as its sixth President. The selection is pending final approval by the State Board of Community Colleges and successful completion of contract negotiations.

Once approval is received from the State Board of Community Colleges, Dr. Chapman will succeed Dr. T. Eston Marchant, who will retire April 1 as CCCC President after more than 10 years of service.

Lisa M. Chapman, Ed.D., is Senior Vice President/Chief Academic Officer at the North Carolina Community College System Office in Raleigh, N.C. She previously served as Executive Vice President of Instruction/Chief Academic Officer and Vice President of Academic Affairs/Chief Academic Officer at Central Carolina Community College in Sanford, N.C. Dr. Chapman earned a Doctor of Curriculum and Instruction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Master of Science in Physiology from East Tennessee State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
