Central Carolina Community College continues to monitor the developing COVID-19 situation. The college remains open, and student services are available virtually and in a curbside service capacity. As we prepare for the Spring 2021 semester, precautions are being taken to support physical distancing and safety in campus buildings. Below is information to help prepare you for a successful academic year.

The Academic Year
The Spring 2021 semester begins on January 8th
With YOU as our top priority, many classes have been transitioned into a blended or online environment, and seated time on campus will be significantly reduced to maximize your health and safety. In all courses and labs with a seated requirement, there will be 30-50% fewer students allowed to enroll and attend. Students age 65 or older or those with medical conditions are encouraged to take fully online classes.
All students and employees will be required to follow the health and safety protocols covered in the section below, including the 3 W's endorsed by the North Carolina Department of Health & Human Services. These three actions will help protect our college community.

2020-2021 Course Delivery Plans
Degrees, Diplomas, and Certificates
There are benefits to a face-to-face learning environment. With that in mind, CCCC remains also committed to safety when making decisions about our return to face-to-face instruction. Therefore, CCCC has taken the following actions to prepare for Spring 2021:
- Many courses have been transitioned into an online environment.
- Courses that remain in a seated capacity have transitioned into a “blended” modality which combines online learning with limited face-to-face time.
- The maximum number of students allowed in seated classrooms is lower than normal to support physical distancing in the seated classroom environment.
- Many courses are being added in a synchronous online method that require online meetings during specific days and times. These will be noted by the inclusion of the “C” in the section prefix, such as ACC 120 LC1. Students will meet online with their classmates and instructor synchronously via Blackboard Collaborate.
Workforce Continuing Education
CCCC offers professional training, certifications, and personal advancement courses through its Workforce Continuing Education offerings. The following actions have been taken to protect the safety and health our students and community:
- An expanded number of courses have been transitioned to online delivery
- Face-to-face courses will be available in a limited seating capacity to support physical distancing.
High School Equivalency
Earn a high school diploma or high school diploma equivalent (formerly GED®) through CCCC’s Adult Secondary Education offerings. Learn to read, improve math, reading and writing, or learn English as a Second Language. Courses are now being offered online and in a limited seated capacity. How to Sign Up for Classes
New Students (Degree, Diploma, Certificate) and ALL Workforce Continuing Education & High School Equivalency: Follow the step-by-step instructions on the APPLY webpage for enrollment assistance.
Returning Students in Degree, Diploma, and Certificate Programs (enrolled within the past year): Connect with an advisor virtually. If a specific advisor is unavailable for your program, they will point you in the right direction. Visit the Advising webpage for instructions on how to use WebAdvisor.
Books & Course Materials
Books and materials will be available to order online and shipped to your home or can be scheduled for curbside pickup during the dates and times below.
Place your order online via the CCCC Bookstore website, and you will receive a confirmation email when your curbside order is ready. Orders placed online after 4 p.m. will be available for curbside pick-up by 12 p.m. on the following business day.
***For faster service at pickup, please have your Order # ready when you arrive. The order number should read 118600000xxxxx with the last two digits being the most important.***

The Bookstore is closed to the general public. Only Veterans Affairs and Deferred Payment Customers may visit in-person on Lee Main Campus from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Students who are required to submit documents may access necessary forms at CCCC Financial Aid Forms. Submit the requested documents within 7-10 business days of receiving the email notification to prevent delays in your financial aid eligibility. Documents can be submitted via the following ways:

Health and Safety Protocols
CCCC recommends all employees and students who visit campus take a daily assessment to determine if self-quarantine is necessary.
CCCC's COVID-19 Campus Exposure Procedures will guide appropriate protocols to help create a safe learning environment for all and to guide communication as appropriate in case of exposures.
When visiting a CCCC campus or site, please pay attention to signage displayed and follow the "3 W's" to:
- Wear a face mask covering your face and nose at all times.
- Wait six feet apart. Maintain social distancing by avoiding close contact with others.
- Wash your hands. Use hand sanitizing stations and/or wash your hands prior to entering buildings and classrooms.
Computer Lab Reservations Now Available!
Students are now able to make reservations to access a computer lab on a main campus in Lee, Chatham, and Harnett counties. Computer labs can be used to access and complete online coursework and to participate in online synchronous classes. Read carefully:
- There are a limited number of seats available in each available lab, so reserve quickly.
- Seats are spread throughout the lab to ensure practice of safe physical distancing.
- Face masks will be required while using the labs.
- Students will be required to use hand sanitizer upon entry.
- Students will be required to bring their own headphones, if needed.
- A limited number of webcams are available. When making a reservation, please add "webcam" in the comments to make the request.
- Students are limited to 10 hours in the lab per week (Subject to change).

The college is making free WiFi available to students and employees in specific parking lot locations.

Charter/Spectrum is offering an assistance program called Spectrum Internet Assist.
AT&T’s Access program is offering low-cost wireline home Internet service to qualifying households.
Comcast’s Internet Essentials program offers affordable internet options for qualifying individuals, including access to low-cost computers.
Lifeline Support is a federal program that lowers the cost of either phone or internet access.
The NC Department of Information and Technology has compiled a list of new and existing free or affordable service offerings from vendors across the state.
Check with your local provider for information about waiving late fees to avoid disruption of service if you are experiencing financial hardship due the coronavirus.
CCCC is not connected to any of these providers and cannot guarantee availability.

Students who need to drop off physical documents for the Registrar's Office or Financial Aid may do so by going to the Chatham, Harnett, or Lee Campuses and placing their documents in the Student Services Dropbox. The dropbox on the Lee Campus is located outside the lobby door of the Hockaday Building; the Chatham dropbox is located at the entrance to the Administration Building (#41); and the Harnett dropbox is located at the entrance to the Miriello Building. Please note on your envelope if the document is for the Financial Aid Office or the Registrar's Office or if it's for a specific employee. These dropboxes will be checked daily.
Student Activities & Athletics
Central Carolina Student Activities Office will offer a limited number of online events and activities during the Spring semester. There will be no on-campus events or student activities until further notice.
Men's golf, Volleyball, Men and Women's basketball is set to begin competition in mid January and run through the end of March. As of now we do not plan to have any fans at home events.
In case of a resurgence of COVID-19 cases, a possible shutdown, and/or on-campus exposures to the virus, the College will be prepared in the following ways:
- If there is a reported instance of COVID-19 exposure inside a seated classroom meeting, an alternate method of instruction or class participation may be necessary. For example, if a classroom exposure is reported at mid-term, it may be necessary to immediately convert that class to an online modality for the remainder of the term.
- The College may elect to close an impacted classroom or office for a period up to 72 hours following a confirmed case to allow for natural deactivation of the virus. In this case, alternate assignments will be made available to students and communicated via Blackboard and Cougarmail.
- In the event all classes must move online, faculty will be ready to address at-risk populations and ADA accessibility.
- Proactive approaches are being taken to maximize the number of synchronous and online class options available, allowing students the option to participate both in-person or online.
- Faculty in some curriculum courses may elect to modify course schedules to have students finish their in-person coursework prior to Thanksgiving. These courses would finish the semester online until the end of the semester in December.
- Online exams will be hosted in Blackboard using a secure test environment, and some departments will use a remote proctoring solution.
- Student field trips will continue to be suspended indefinitely.
