CCCC EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH!
Congratulations November Employee of the Month:
Anne O'Shaughnessy
Anne O'Shaughnessy is a great instructor. Most of the instructors at CCCC fit into this category, but Anne goes above and beyond for her students. She has been with the college for 14 years and has developed a strong reputation with the faculty and students as being a consistent, fair, and loyal person. She consistently works to make her students successful in the Medical Assisting program by offering tutoring two days a week for any course that they might be struggling with. Anne operates her class with transparency so the students are aware of her expectations. They know if they have concerns, Anne will help them figure out a solution. She loves her students and cares deeply for them and the goals that they are working toward. She is constantly looking for resources to help students including financial, emotional, and academic. She has served for several years on the Harnett Health Science Academy team during the summers. This is a camp for high school students whp are interested in a career in the health field. During the camp week, Anne prepared fun learning experiences with the students to help them understand the Medical Assisting career.
Anne is an advocate for the students in their clinical rotations. She spends one hour a week with each student to observe them in the medical office. She is there to help the students with remediation and support. She offers gentle corrective criticism if needed.
Anne is also available to the faculty. She offers her expertise to the new members of the HHSC team and welcomes them with open arms and an open office. Anne is a great example of what a CCCC Employee of the Month should be.
