WOW! WHAT A TEAM!
Congratulations to the 2013 Faculty and Staff Members of the Year
Lisa Key Brown, Department Chair of Developmental Studies, has been chosen as our Faculty Member of the Year. This recognition is based upon her record of successful interactions with students, effective classroom environments, innovations in teaching methods, professional development experiences, leadership roles beyond the classroom, past recognition, and exceeding expectations.
B.J. Thompson, Lead Library Assistant, has been chosen as our Staff Member of the Year. B.J. was recognized for illustrating a commitment to our mission, exceeding expectations, demonstrating leadership and innovation, efficiently using college resources, exemplifying a commitment to professional development, being a positive role model, sharing knowledge, and making suggestions to improve our success.
Both of these individuals will be recognized at our Professional Development Day on Dec. 18th. During this event, each will each receive a plaque, certificate, and a $500 cash prize. In addition, each individual will represent our college at the statewide competition.
A special thanks goes out to both of you for your devotion to our college.
WHAT'S HAPPENING AROUND CCCC
News From Harnett Campus
The annual Harnett County Campus presentation of the 'The U.S. Constitution: A Living Document and Its History' was held on Monday, September 16, 2013 in the Miriello Bldg. The presenter was Robert Barnes, CCCC History Instructor. Students and faculty enjoyed an excellent presentation and delicious Constitution cake.
The presentation focused on the history of the U.S. Constitution, its importance as an Enlightenment Era document, and its significance to modern America. Students had the opportunity to ask questions about the U.S. Constitution, its importance, and its relevance.
New Banners are Flying High
The front entrance and other areas of the Sanford campus now have banners featuring the college logo. Thank you to the Maintenance Department for their efforts and installation of the banners. Banners will be coming soon to the Pittsboro and Lillington campuses.

CCCC Confucius Classroom Instructor Bids Sanford A Fond Farewell
Ling Huang (second from left) was bid a fond farewell by Central Carolina Community College and the public during an Aug. 7 reception at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center. Huang served as the visiting instructor at the college's Confucius Classroom for almost two years. She recently returned home to her family, friends and her position as an English instructor at Nanjing Normal University, The People's Republic of China. While at CCCC, Huang taught Chinese language and culture, organized community Chinese cultural events, and gave presentations to area organizations and schools. Pictured with Huang are her son, Qianfan Chen (left), and (from second right) CCCC President Bud Marchant and Jon Matthews, CCCC dean of University Transfer and Health Sciences. Marchant and Matthews presented a Jimmy Miller pen-and-ink montage of CCCC buildings to her as a remembrance of her time at the college. They hold a scenic scroll hand-painted on silk, a gift to the college from Huang. The Confucius Classroom is a partnership with N.C. State University's Confucius Institute. News From the CCCC Family
Goodbye to CCCC, from Renee Dusenbury
College Community,
There is a time for everything. After almost 13 years at CCCC, I leave with mixed feelings. I am thankful for the accomplishments we made together and the bridges that we crossed. I apologize for my part in things that did not work as well. My thoughts are with you that the factors leading to the fulfillment of the college mission will come together now and in the future. My plans are to stay in the geographical area, so perhaps we will connect.
