WOW! WHAT A TEAM!
Med Program Grads Ready For Jobs
The college's Continuing Education Medical Programs held a combined graduation for the first time for students completing their classes in Chatham, Harnett or Lee. The graduation was held Dec. 14 at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center. Almost 500 students earned their certificates during the fall semester - a great job by the Medical Programs team. Leading the team are the Medical Programs Coordinators (from left) Lennie Stephenson (Harnett), Cindy Smith (Chatham), and Judy Farmer (Lee).
This year CCCC's continuing education medical program has sustained the tradition of sending its graduates into the job market with skills that are in demand. Last Wednesday, graduation ceremonies were held and, in total, 485 students will start the new year armed with solid credentials for finding jobs in the medical field after earning certificates in one or more of the program's broad range of medical classes.
"We are pleased that so many of our graduates find work quickly," Judy Farmer, Health Program Coordinator, said. "Many of them come back for additional training and for Associate Degrees."

"Vance-Granville Community College is a remarkable institution with a demonstrated commitment to student success," Williams said. Cougar Profile
Charlee Cougar
Official CCCC Mascot
He's a cougar of mystery, appearing from out of nowhere and disappearing into the darkness. No one knows where he lives. He's drawn to places where there are happy people: basketball games, Student Activity days, parades. He loves kids of all ages.
A few months ago, Charlee was given his official name and sightings have become much more frequent. He's proven to be an asset to the college: People take to him at first sight. Charlee has been in his element this month, appearing in many of the local Christmas parades as the face of the college, to the delight of all who see him. Charlee's message to everyone at this time of year: "It's registration time at the college. Everyone can find something offered in the class schedule that will improve their professional skills or enrich their lives."
To the faculty and staff of the college, Charlee says, "God bless us, one and all. Keep sending the love."
Charlee brought one of his many celebrity friends to see the Cougars play basketball recently and they posed for pictures before the game.
News From the CCCC Family
Dear CCCC Family: Thank you so much for the visits, cards, calls, flowers, food, donations to the scholarship endowment, and other expressions of condolences over the recent death of my dear husband. I know that it is hard to know what to say or sometimes how to act when a colleague has lost a loved one. I want you to know that I have keenly felt your individual and collective thoughts and prayers and I feel blessed to be a part of such a wonderful and caring work family. Love and gratitude, Karen Allen
