Con Ed Offers "Tai Chi for Health" Program
Central Carolina Community College's Continuing Education Department offers a unique "Tai Chi for Health" program. Tai Chi consists of fluid, gentle, circular movements that improve strength, flexibility, fitness, relaxation, balance, posture, and immunity. Tai Chi, Parts I and II, classes will be held 6:30 p.m.-7:45 p.m., Tuesdays, May 19-August 4 at the college's Chatham County Campus in Pittsboro. For more information, call (919) 542-6495, ext. 223.

Staff Development
Mark your calendars for a rescheduled roundtable discussion for distance faculty. The March session will now be Tues., May 19. This staff development session is a chance for virtual faculty to engage in face-to-face dialogue about what works and how to make it work better with a critical support service. CCCC Summer Fun for Kids
Summer is coming and Central Carolina Community College's Continuing Education Department in Lee County is offering several fun and educational camps for children and youth. The camps being offered are:
- Kids' Sewing Camp - Students will learn the basics of sewing and will complete a bib apron or tote. The cost is $30 and students must bring their own supplies: one yard of fabric, thread, scissors, and pins. The camp runs 1:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m., June 22-25, in Room 1 at the college's Jonesboro Center, 400 Cox Maddox Road, Sanford.
- Kids' Computer Camp - This camp, for students ages 8-14, will provide an overview of basic computers, MS Office software, research sites, and how to safely browse the Internet. They will learn how to use MS Office programs to complete assignments and work on projects. They will be introduced to the Internet to research schoolwork and learn how to avoid predators when using it. The camp runs 8:30 a.m.-12: 30 p.m., July 20-24, at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center, 1801 Nash St., Sanford. The cost is $60.
- Kids' Cooking Camp with Chef Hamm - Kids and teens will spend a fun-filled week learning a variety of cooking techniques with a well-known local chef. There are five sessions of this camp, designed for different age groups. All sessions will run 8:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. and will be held at Cafe 121, at 121 Chatham St., Sanford. Each session costs $125, which includes all food.
- Session 1 - June 15-19, for ages 5 to 8;
- Session 2 - June 22-26, for ages 9-13;
- Session 3 - July 13-17, for ages 5-8;
- Session 4 - July 20-24, for ages 9-13; and,
- Session 5 - July 27-31, for ages 14-17.

Wanted: Many thanks to those who have already contributed the much needed tote bags (non-paper/non-plastic) to the Coalition for Human Care. Kitchen workers are happily using them to prepare food bags for Coalition clients. In this economy, the number of clients is increasing daily and the need for tote bags is growing.
