WOW! WHAT A TEAM!
Broadcasting Club Spreads Christmas Warmth
Billy Freeman, Broadcasting Technologies lead, is full of pride and Christmas cheer about the recent activities of members of the Broadcast Production Technology Club. They are bringing warmth to more than 100 Sanford residents this winter, thanks to a coat collection and donation project by club members. The students collected more than 100 coats and delivered them to The Bread Basket in Sanford on December 16th for distribution. Those making the delivery were (from left) Jeremy Rutherford of Anderson Creek, club treasurer; Santa Claus, played by Justin Bullock of Fuquay-Varina; John Benson of Spout Springs, club president; and Kyle Goodwin of Moncure.

Signs Up For Spring Registration
The cheerful yellow sign pictured here is one way we are getting the word out about Spring registration. We're asking for your help in getting them up in as many places as possible in Chatham, Harnett and Lee Counties. Writing Works: CCCC's Quality Enhancement Plan News
by Zena Harvley-Felder, QEP Coordinator
Writing Works: CCCC's Quality Enhancement Plan calls for both direct and indirect assessments of progress. This spring, CCCC will participate in two surveys that will serve as indirect assessments for Writing Works, and on a broader scale, for the college's overall improvement efforts. The two surveys are the Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE) and the Community College Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (CCFSSE). The CCSSE is designed to provide information on learning-centered indicators of quality for community and technical colleges nationwide. CCSSE provides colleges with important information about their learning environment and educational practices. Questions on the survey focus on students' overall experience in community college. The results from the survey will be useful for diagnosis, benchmarking performance, and monitoring progress of improvement efforts. The QEP calls for administration of the CCSSE and CCFSSE in the spring of 2009, 2011, and 2012.
Classes to be surveyed are selected randomly by CCSSE according to time of day. A list of classes selected will be available sometime in February-March. The pencil and paper survey will take one class period. Instructors whose classes are selected will choose a date for the survey administration. The CCSSE will be administered during March-April, and the CCFSSE, an online survey of faculty, will be administered between March 2 and May 20th. An Institutional Report will be delivered to Dr. Marchant by July 31, 2009 and will also be available online. The National Report will be delivered in November, 2009. Results are reported in the aggregate. If you are interested in further information about the CCSSE or CCFSSE, please see the attached FAQs or visit the CCSSE Website www.ccsse.org. If you have further questions, please call or email me. Thank you for your cooperation in this important endeavor.
