Information & Planning Conference Defines CCCC's Resources for High School Administrators and Counselors

Two people doing a DNA Study

On November 14th, 54 high school administrators and counselors from six North Carolina counties rotated through a series of workshops showcasing CCCC's Bioprocessing, Biofuels, Latent Evidence, and Learn and Earn/University Transfer programs. Held at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center this year, the conference has been held annually for more than 30 years to inform the area high schools of the opportunities the college offers their students and graduates. "The main purpose of the Information and Planning Conference is to build a relationship with the high schools," said Bobby Wicker, Director of Recruiting.

The event was the result of a great team effort: Karen Allen, Stephen Athans, Lisa Chapman, Joni Pavlik and their staffs worked with recruiters Bobby Wicker, Kelvin Hunt, Ray Polak and Laurie Lymphany, and Virginia Brown, Vocational/Technical Liaison, to make a lot of information accessible and interesting. Attendees moved through four workshops: Bioprocessing Technology led by Joe Robinson, University Transfer/Learn and Earn led by Carl Bryan, Alternative Energy Technology:Biofuels led by Andrew McMahan and Criminal Justice/Latent Evidence led by Robert Powell.
