CCCC Foundation Raises Over $30,000 for Scholarships

Golf Classic Golfer

Diane Glover, CCCC Foundation Executive Director, says hard work by the Foundation Directors and the support of a lot of people are what made the 19th Annual Golf Classic, held at Quail Ridge Golf Course, so successful. CCCC President, Dr. Bud Marchant, was on hand to greet participants while Mike Neal, Student Activities Director, photographed the entire event. Dwane Hodges, CCCC Grants Writer, directed the putting contest. Avron Upchurch, CCCC Retiree, witnessed the hole-in-one contest. Jimmy Boggs, Supply Store Manager, and Edwin Thomas, Chair, Machining/Tool & Die, led their foursome to glory as they took first place in Flight #2.

Diane particularly wanted to recognize the CCCC Ambassadors, who helped to greet golfers as they arrived, assisted with the raffle tickets, organized lunch, helped with the putting contest, and were always there when they were needed. A giant thanks to Donna Flowers, Holly Kidds, Emily Needham, Kendra Norgren, and Marikate Preston for their good work.

"Those playing had a great time and helped raise funds for a wonderful community cause: education," said Diane. Artical End

REMINDERS

Faculty Urged by President Marchant to Sign Up for College Committees

by T. Eston (Bud) Marchant, President

"Attached to this edition of the e-bulletin is a form for you to use in selecting a college standing committee. I consider College Committees to be extremely important. By dealing with the issues assigned them, committees promote and enhance effective communication throughout the college and the community. I would urge each of you to think about which committee best suits your interests and talents. Committee membership is open to all employees of the college. A current description of the duties of the standing committees is found in Policy 7.02.

"Please use the following guidelines in selecting a committee. If you are currently a member of a committee and would like to remain on that committee, please circle the committee name, indicate that you are a current member and would like to remain so. If you are not a member of a committee or would like to change the committee on which you serve, please rank your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd selections. Please print off the form and return it to my office by Friday, October 10th. Once the forms have been collected, committee meetings will be scheduled and chairs elected (or reelected)."

Please note, items should not be accepted on behalf of the college unless there is either a need for a particular program, department or for fund-raising purposes.
  2. The Gift In-Kind form should be completed and delivered to the Foundation before pick up or delivery in order to determine that all necessary information has been provided. This form is located on the college's Intranet under Foundation section.
