Born and raised in Southern California, Diane Kannarr, spent more than 10 years in the retail industry before coming to North Carolina. This professional experience allowed her the opportunity not only to work in management, but also to spend time as an assistant buyer of cosmetics and a merchandise manager in the finance division.
Kannarr's educational background includes an AA in Fashion Merchandising, a BS in Marketing and an MBA. She is proud to be an alumnus of both the University of Southern California and Pepperdine University.
Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) has been her favorite place of employment since 1992. While at the College she has taught fashion merchandising, marketing, and business administration courses. In addition to teaching, Kannarr has served as CCCC's Cooperative Education Coordinator for five years.
Her fellow faculty members recognized her as 2001 Business Instructor of the Year, and in 2005 and 2006, she was selected for Who's Who Among America's Teachers. Also in 2006, community members nominated Kannarr to serve as a representative for Sanford, in the Honors Edition of Empire - Who's Who of Women in Education, an organization that highlights executives and professionals in virtually every industry and profession. CCCC selected Kannarr as 2007 Instructor of the Year as part of the Annual Circle of Excellence Awards Ceremony.
Kannarr regularly speaks to local organizations on several topics, including learning styles, professional dress, marketing basics, marketing myths, and the creating of a business plan that works.
