CCCC's Division of Economic & Community Development offers variety of fall classes

SANFORD -- Have you ever thought about a job in cosmetic arts? Health occupations? Culinary arts? Industry? Public safety?

Central Carolina Community College's Division of Economic & Community Development (ECD) is offering numerous programs in the fall semester, including a variety of occupational classes that can lead to that special career for which you've been seeking.

One such class is Certified Drivers License (CDL), where course graduates can find jobs in the trucking industry. Each session of the course operates for four weeks.

The college also offers courses, programs, and seminars in the following areas: Alive at 25 & Defensive Driving, Artistry & Craftsmanship, College & Career Readiness, Computer Technology, Creative Writing, Culinary & Hospitality Arts, Emergency Services Training, Health Occupations, Human Resources Development, Industry Services, Languages, Personal Interest, Professional Development, Small Business Seminars, and Sustainability.

For those individuals who are interested in artistry and craftsmanship, classes are available in crocheting, jewelry making, knitting, leather working, macro photo, painting, photography, Photoshop Elements, pottery, sewing, welding, and wreath and Christmas arrangements.

Perhaps you've thought about dance. There are dance classes for Ballroom, Shag, and West Coast Swing and Three Count Hustle.

There is a genealogy course, where students can learn how to discover their family tree and uncover their rich roots.

Culinary & Hospitality Arts classes include All About Cakes, Artisan Breads, Barbecue Essentials, Culinary Essentials, Further Down the Fermented Trail, and ServSafe Certification.

A Pet Care class includes feeding and nutrition, grooming, and basic training.

There are a variety of Computer Technology courses - Computer Tech Skills, Computers, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint 2013 Success, and QuickBooks.

If you are interested in Creative Writing, there are six course offerings.

Small Business Seminars include such titles as "15 Common Mistakes That Will Undermine Any Business," "Facebook Boot Camp for Your Business," "Finding and Writing Grants," and "Market Your Business by Networking in Your Local Community."
