LILLINGTON - High quality, handcrafted wood and metalwork will be on the block Saturday, June 1, as the Central Carolina Community College Foundation hosts its 13th Annual Furniture Auction.

This popular event takes place in the Multipurpose Room of the Miriello Building on the college's Harnett County Campus, 1075 E. Cornelius Harnett Blvd. Viewing and registration starts at 9 a.m. and bidding, at 10 a.m.

The Furniture Auction is a great source for those seeking to purchase well-made wood and metal work at auction prices while also making an impact on the future of the students at CCCC.

Proceeds from the Auction help to provide financial aid for Harnett County students at the college through an endowed scholarship fund managed by the CCCC Foundation. The proceeds also pay for materials used to produce the auction items, which are created by students in the college's carpentry and welding classes at Harnett Correctional Institution.

More than 100 pieces of handcrafted wood and metalwork, including lawn furniture, tables, chests, jewelry boxes, grills, yard decorations, storage sheds, and other items will be up for auction.

"The Furniture Auction is a fantastic way for the community to support CCCC," said Emily Hare, director for the CCCC Foundation and Development Office. "Each year, around 10 students receive scholarships from the proceeds of the auction, allowing them the opportunity to achieve their educational goals. In return, many of them 'pay it forward' by making a difference in the lives of others in Harnett County. Thank you to all our supporters over the past 13 years and the impact you have had on the lives of our students!"
