11.18.2008 • Continuing Education
SANFORD — Central Carolina Community College, in partnership with BB&T, will offer a pre-bank teller training class during the spring semester.
BB&T will grant an initial job interview to those completing the class.
The class is offered through the college’s Continuing Education Department in Lee County.
Pre-bank teller training covers basic banking procedures, including the functions of the banking industry, teller responsibilities, and how to perform a variety of daily transaction procedures.
Participants will also learn the features and benefits of four basic banking products, quality customer service, compliance issues that affect the teller function, security related issues, and steps to being an effective communicator. They will also be trained in proper interviewing techniques.
Those completing the course successfully can apply for a banking position with BB&T through the Employment Security Commission. The class does not guarantee employment, but does allow participants to have an initial interview. Interviews will be held during the last week of class.
The class runs 6 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, Jan. 12-March 4. The cost is $60. Registration begins Dec. 3 and seating is limited. For more information, call (919) 718-7225.
