CCCC Con Ed offers Optometric Assistant class

SANFORD - Learn to be an optometric assistant in a program offered by Central Carolina Community College's Continuing Education Department.
rnThere is no prerequisite for this course, which trains students in the equipment, procedures and techniques used in optometric eye care practices. During the 120-hour program, students will study ocular anatomy, terminology, pharmacology, triage, eyeglass fitting and dispensing, and office management skills.
rnThe program runs 5:30 p.m.-9 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, Oct. 3-Feb. 29, at the college's Lifelong Learning Center at W.B. Wicker, 900 S. Vance St., Sanford. The cost is $181.25.
rnA Skills for Success class, required of optometric assistant students, runs 5 p.m.-9 p.m. Tuesdays Oct. 4-Nov. 8 at the LLC and costs $65. The cost may be waived for students who meet waiver requirements. For more information, call (919) 775-2122, ext. 7793.
