CCCC's Dr. Barbara Campbell receives ECU College of Nursing Preceptor of the Year honor

SANFORD, N.C. - Dr. Barbara Campbell, Central Carolina Community College Department Chair of the CCCC Louise L. Tuller School of Nursing, has been named the East Carolina University College of Nursing Preceptor of the Year for Nursing Education.

The ECU College of Nursing said of Dr. Campbell: "She is an outstanding nurse educator and an exemplary role model for nursing students to learn the multi-faceted nature of nurse educators. Dr. Campbell's passion for nursing education and her innovation make her a wonderful role model for new nurse educators. Students express their appreciation for her abilities to teach compassionately and with flexibility and persistence. She sets the bar high for her students and they appreciate her care and concern."

Prior to coming to the CCCC Nursing program in 2008, she worked in the Orthopedic and Urology Unit at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

Campbell, a Sanford resident, earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from CCCC. While a student, she received the Excellence in Nursing Award. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, her Master of Science in Nursing - Nursing Education at East Carolina University, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Grand Canyon University.
