SANFORD, N.C. - The Central Carolina Community College 2023-2024 women's basketball team is looking for continuing improvement.

"We look like we are ready to take the next step in our women's basketball program," said Marcel Webster, CCCC women's basketball coach. He notes that he is excited about this year's team chemistry.

"Our team strengths are better skilled players," said Coach Webster. "Our freshmen will make an immediate contribution this year."

Returning players are Kamilah Coley of Durham, N.C.; Melanie Livingston of Phoenix, Ariz.; Zoey McMickens of Lithonia, Ga.; and Sherijah Rhames of Hickory, N.C.

New team members are Fran DeJesus of Rio Piedras, PR; Brookelyn Hall of Floyd County, Va.; Trinity Hill of Tift, Ga.; Julie Krause of Hickory, N.C.; Diana Lopez of Coats, N.C.; Janiya Pollard of Aiken, S.C.; Maiasia Prescott of Lancaster, Calif.; Janie Ragsdale of Tift, Ga.; Zaniyah Willingham of Piedmont, S.C.; and Makayla Wright of Bladenboro, N.C.

"We will be successful in all aspects of our women's basketball program: first in the classroom, secondly in the community, and third on the basketball court," said Coach Webster.
