CCCC graduates 12 from BLET program

SANFORD - Twelve Central Carolina Community College Basic Law Enforcement Training cadets graduated during May 29 exercises at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic & Conference Center in Sanford.

Day Class graduates are Isaac Dinesh Das of Angier, Felecia Nicole David of Raleigh, Michael Anthony Hackney of Bear Creek, Kristan Veronica Hawkins of Siler City, Brandon Lee Mills of Sanford, and Jacob Michael Molden of Apex.

Night Class graduates are Andrew Robert Gray Jr. of Apex, Isaac Edward Haines of Sanford, Wesley Michael Holder of Sanford, Laurie Fayer Lynch of Pittsboro, Dwayne Grant McLean of Angier, and Tyler Allen McNeill of Sanford.

Several of the Day Class graduates were recognized for outstanding achievement during their training. They were: Most Improved Physical Fitness - Jacob Michael Molden; Fastest Police Officers Physical Abilities Test (POPAT) - Chase/ Apprehension - Isaac Dinesh Das; Fastest Police Officers Physical Abilities Test (POPAT) - Rescue - Isaac Dinesh Das; Jimmy Collins Top Gun Award - Michael Anthony Hackney; Highest Course Grade Point Average - Kristan Veronica Hawkins; and Highest State Exam - Kristan Veronica Hawkins.

Several of the Night Class graduates were recognized for outstanding achievement during their training. They were: Most Improved Physical Fitness - Dwayne Grant McLean; Fastest Police Officers Physical Abilities Test (POPAT) - Chase/ Apprehension - Andrew Robert Gray Jr.; Fastest Police Officers Physical Abilities Test (POPAT) - Rescue - Andrew Robert Gray Jr.; Jimmy Collins Top Gun Award - Tyler Allen McNeill; Highest Course Grade Point Average - Laurie Fayer Lynch; and Highest State Exam - Dwayne Grant McLean.

Guest speakers were: Day Class - Joseph C. Sellers, City of Sanford Police Department, and Night Class - Benson D. Wise, City of Sanford Police Department.

Robert W. Powell, CCCC Director of BLET and Department Chair of Public Safety, led the entrance of the BLET Cadets and later awarded the graduation certificates. Welcome was by Dean Drew Goodson, CCCC Dean of Career and Technical Education. Introductions were by Robert W. Powell (Day Class) and Brian Estes (Night Class).

Sponsoring agencies for the BLET classes were the Chatham County Sheriff's Office, Harnett County Sheriff's Office, Lee County Sheriff's Office, North Carolina State Parks and Recreation, and Sanford Police Department.
