Representatives from the North Carolina Tobacco Trust Fund Commission visited Central Carolina Community College's Chatham County Campus, in Pittsboro, March 13 to present a $25,000 Project Skill-Up grant. The gift will help support the Natural Chef Culinary Arts program at the Chatham Campus and the Sustainable Agriculture program at the West Harnett Center. While at the campus, the representatives toured the Natural Chef Culinary Arts kitchen and cafe and saw students learning 'classic cuts' knife skills. This is the second Project Skill-Up grant the college has received. Both are providing student support for the Natural Chef and West Harnett Sustainable Agriculture programs, including the purchase of the required knife kits for the culinary arts program.
