CCCC Foundation unites scholarship donors, recipients

The Central Carolina Community College Foundation hosted its annual Scholarship Luncheon Nov. 13 at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center. For the scholarship recipients, the luncheon was an opportunity to meet and personally thank those who are helping them pay for their education. For the donors, it connected a face and story to their generosity. Among those attending were (from left) Janet Jackson, Central Electric Membership Corporation energy advisor; CEMC Scholarship recipient Seth Tom, of Lee County; and Nancy Gust, CEMC director of Marketing and Member Services. The CCCC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization affiliated with, but independent of, the college. Among those attending were Barbara Wilson (left), of Naples, Fla., and Carol O'Brien (right), of Siler City, sister and widow, respectively, of Raymond Francis O'Brien Jr. Lisa Buxton (center), of Pittsboro, a Dental Hygiene student, is the recipient the memorial scholarship established by his family in his name.
