Laser technology became hands-on for some students from Coats/Erwin, Harnett Central and Dunn middle schools on Feb. 23, when they took part in the High Tech-High Touch Workshop sponsored by Central Carolina Community College's Laser and Photonics Department on the college's Harnett County Campus, in Lillington. At the workshop, (not pictured in order) students Adam Diehm, Jesse Garcia, Camden Irvin, Jacob Parker, Kyle Parker, and Adam Roberson, and their parent or adult mentor, did fun and informative hands-on laser technology activities together. Gary Beasley, Laser and Photonics lead instructor, and second-year students Jerel Brown, of Angier; Caleb Cardin, of Gardner; Jonathan Faircloth, of Fuquay; and Joseph Price, of Erwin, provided instruction for the event. For more about Laser and Photonics or High Tech-High Touch workshops, contact Beasley at (910) 814-8828 or email: gbeasley@cccc.edu.
