Lee County Commissioner Charlie Parks (center) and his wife, Darlene, pick up their new best friend, a beagle named Jackie, from Jonathan Loftis (left), Animal Facilities manager for Central Carolina Community College's Veterinary Medical Technology program. Parks had toured the campus a few days before and fell in love with Jackie. The Vet Med program, located at the college's Lee County Campus, has well-behaved dogs and cats available for adoption to loving, permanent homes. All come from local animal shelters. All the animals have been well cared for by students, are up to date on their shots, are spayed or neutered, and people friendly. To see the available animals or for more information about adoption, check out cougarpets.webs.com or contact Loftis at 919-718-7465 or email at jloftis@cccc.edu.
