Brenda Stecher, of Siler City, and Cheyenne, her golden retriever-chow mix pal, enjoy a walk on the Trail for Health, Art and Nature for Kids to Seniors (T.H.A.N.K.S.) walking trail at Central Carolina Community College's Chatham County Campus, in Pittsboro. The mile-long trail circling the campus is a gift to the community by the college, Chatham County Council on Aging, and many volunteers and community members. The Division of Parks and Recreation of the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources provided the funding for it. The trail is one of the healthy and fun activities available to visitors at the college's Chatham Celebration April 28 at the campus, 764 West St. Free activities run from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. A Health Fair will be a part of this day of fun, learning, and entertainment for the whole family. For more information and a schedule of activities, go to www.cccc/50years/events.
