John Delafield (left), Central Carolina Community College’s renewable technologies director, and Chris Wachholz of Asheville-based FLS Energy announce March 23 at CCCC’s Pittsboro Campus an agreement between the school and the company to place solar panels on the rooftop of two of the campus’ buildings. The agreement creates a renewable source of energy as well as revenue for both parties. The announcement was the centerpiece of an entire day of solar activities and workshops held at the campus. The day was put together by the college in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Energy and the N.C. Solar Center.
