Central Carolina Community College’s new Natural Chef culinary arts program graduated its first class on Jan. 29 at the college’s Chatham County Campus, in Pittsboro. The 18 students completed the intensive Continuing Education program of 504 hours over 18 weeks. Among the graduates were (from left) Hiram Kabui, Bryce Whitt, April Waters, and Sharon Nettles. They studied nutrition, food science, therapeutic cooking, seasonal foods, regional cooking, culinary business management, and other topics. The food used in the class was harvested from the Student Farm or bought from local organic farms.
