Gloria Cheatham, long-time employee of Central Carolina Community College

Ed Garrison (left), chairman of the Central Carolina Community College Board of Trustees, paid tribute to college retiree Gloria Cheatham at the board’s Feb. 9 meeting with the announcement of the board’s establishment of a scholarship in her honor. Cheatham (center) was presented with a large mock-up of a check for $1,600 made out to the CCCC Foundation for the Gloria Cheatham CCCC EOP Scholarship. Cheatham was accompanied to the presentation by her husband, Larry Cheatham (right). The scholarship was in recognition of Cheatham’s 23 years of service as administrative assistant to three presidents of the college and the board. She was also active in the college, regional and state organizations of the N.C. Association of Educational Office Professionals. The sign behind Cheatham commemorates the college’s upcoming 50th anniversary celebration.
