PlayMakers actor visits CCCC theater class

Schultz involved the students and members of the collegeís theater production group in readings from playwright Arthur Millerís drama ĎAll My Sons.í The play deals with priorities, choices and consequences for a manufacturer who sells defective airplane engine parts to the military during World War II. Schultz encouraged the students to review their own priorities in order to better understand the challenges faced by the various characters in the play. The students came away from his presentation with a greater understanding of the play and characters and excited about a planned trip to PlayMakers to see the production. Theater became a personal experience for Central Carolina Community Collegeís Theatre Appreciation class during a Feb. 9 visit by PlayMakers Repertory Theatre actor Wes Schultz. He visited instructor Ellen Blandís class on the collegeís Lee County Campus to discuss playwright Arthur Millerís drama ĎAll My Sonsí with the students and members of Blandís theater production group. Emily Thigpen (left), of the production group, and student Fonda McSwain, both of Sanford, do an impromptu reading from the script to gain a better understanding of the charactersí motivations.
