CCCC Phi Beta Lambda takes wins at State PBL competition

Members of the Phi Beta Lambda Club, at Central Carolina Community College, competed in the North Carolina PBL State Leadership Conference in Charlotte the weekend of April 4 and brought home a number of awards. First, second and third place award winners advance to competition at the National PBL Conference in Anaheim, Calif. in June. Central Carolina award winners and advisors were: (front row, from left) Drew Goodson, of Cary, club advisor; Tanya Haislip, of Sanford, 2nd Place, Accounting Principals; Barbara Dellinger, of Broadway, 5th place, Sales Presentation; Alejandra Benitez, of Sanford, 8th Place, Business Communications; Rose Orange, of Cameron, 5th Place, Job Interview; Lara Trocchia, of Sanford, 8th Place, Client Service; and Johnny Shull, of Coats, club advisor. Melvin Smith (seated), of Sanford, won 2nd Place, Business Law; (back row, from left) Rita Marble, of Cameron, 5th Place, Accounting Principals; Ekene Chidobem, of Lillington, 5th Place, Economic Analysis & Decision Making; Rachel Martin, of Sanford, 3rd Place, Business Law; Joshua Bussey, of Dunn, 3rd Place, Economic Analysis & Decision Making; and Donna Flowers, of Sanford, 2nd Place, Accounting Analysis and Decision Making. Orange and Flowers also took 5th Place in Business Decision Making; and Smith, Marble, Dellinger, Benitez and Haislip also took 4th Place in Parliamentary Procedure. Shull is business and economics lead instructor and Goodson is an accounting instructor at the college. PBL, a national student organization, promotes business leadership in its members.
