What is Institutional Effectiveness?

Institutional Effectiveness is the practice of integrating the power of accurate, meaningful data into the planning, evaluation and budgeting processes for all areas of an institution. Although much of our work is behind-the-scenes, we supply information and guide the planning and decision-making processes for all aspects of the college, including admissions, enrollment, student success, general education, program plans, student learning outcomes and many more. We offer information in context with a given issue to our local college administrators, as well as state, federal and accrediting agencies, in support of our continued good standing with all bodies of oversight. Projects in Institutional Effectiveness routinely compare data, plans and assessments from CCCC to those from similar institutions, to benchmark our effectiveness and shortcomings and to prepare plans for our continuous improvement.

In short, most of the important decisions made on campus regarding our college's most vital programs and responsibilities are based on information collected by the Institutional Effectiveness Department. We are committed to promoting an institutional "Culture of Evidence" to encourage data-informed decision making and continuous improvement college-wide. Our institutional values of excellence, integrity, student-focus, community, diversity, innovation, and sustainability are woven into every part of our work. We are passionate about providing leadership, support, and inspiration for the pursuit of excellence in every aspect of college operations.
