  • Does the Bookstore sell used textbooks? Yes, the Bookstore does sell used textbooks. However, some textbooks are not available as used, such as workbooks, new editions, or shrink wrapped packages. return to top
  • How much will my textbooks cost? The cost of your textbooks will vary depending on what classes you take. Generally, books that are updated frequently and contain more photos, graphs, online tools or CDs, such as Biology or Computer Technology books, are more expensive than English or History books, which tend to be simpler and updated less often. For your convenience, we place all of our textbook pricing and information on our website, www.centralcarolina.bkstr.com. Simply click on 'Books', enter in your course information as it appears on your schedule, and the books you need for class will be shown, along with their pricing options (new, used, rent). Please note: In order to provide quality service to the customers in the store, we cannot provide pricing information over the phone. return to top
  • How do I find out what textbooks I need? Once you know what classes you are enrolled in, visit www.centralcarolina.bkstr.com to find out what textbooks you will need for class. All textbook titles, ISBN information and pricing is located on the website. As with pricing, in order to serve our customers in store, we cannot provide titles or ISBN information over the phone. You are also always welcome to come into the bookstore, where titles, ISBN information and prices are listed for each textbook. return to top

  • Does the Bookstore sell gift cards and/or certificates? Yes, the Bookstore sells gift cards. return to top
  • How often does merchandise and apparel change in the Bookstore? The merchandise and apparel changes several times over the course of a year. Please stop in and ask what's new! return to top
  • Is there a student discount on merchandise at the Bookstore? While there is no student discount on merchandise, we always have a selection of sale and clearance merchandise in stock, and occasionally offer coupons to be used on regular priced merchandise. return to top

Payment

  • What are the methods that an individual can purchase items from the Bookstore? Purchases may be made in-store, or online. We do not accept phone orders. Also, if a purchase is made online, it must be shipped to the customer - in-store pickup of online orders is not an option. return to top
  • What payment methods do you accept? The Bookstore accepts cash, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, & Discover), and Financial Aid/FACTS. return to top
  • Do you accept out-of-state checks? No, we do not accept checks of any kind. return to top
  • What is the refund policy?

    STANDARD RETURN POLICY:

    A valid receipt and/or packing slip are required for all refunds or exchanges. All items (except Course Materials and Hardware/Software) unopened and in original condition returned within 30 days of purchase may be exchanged or refunded to the original form of tender.

    Course Materials (textbooks):

    • A full refund will be given for textbooks (excluding Final Sale items) returned prior to your campus specific refund deadline. Materials purchased after the campus specific deadline (but before the final week of class) must be returned within 2 business days of purchase. Materials purchased during the last week of classes or final exams are not returnable/refundable. In order to be eligible for a refund, textbooks and course materials must be in the same condition they were purchased in. Any item that is shrink wrapped or boxed must remain in the sealed shrink wrap or box in order to remain eligible for a refund.
    • Final Sale items include the following: Inkling Digital Textbooks, Study Guides, Test Prep Books, Bar Charts, Cliff Notes, Professional Reference Study Aids, clearance items and magazines. All these items are not returnable/refundable.

    Hardware & Software:

    • Unopened (unless defective) computer hardware and software may be refunded or exchanged within 14 days of purchase.

Hours of Operation

  • What are the Bookstore regular hours of operation? The Lee Campus Bookstore is open on Mondays from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Tuesdays through Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Harnett Campus Bookstore is open on Mondays from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. return to top
  • When does the Bookstore have special hours of operation? The Bookstore has special hours of operation at the beginning and end of each semester. These hours will be posted at the Bookstore location and online during this time period. return to top

Book Buyback

  • When is Book Buyback? Books may be brought into the bookstore for Buyback every day the store is open. return to top
  • How does Book Buyback work? If a textbook is being used in a future semester, the book may be bought back, as needed, for up to 50% of the new sale price. If a textbook is no longer adopted for use, it may still be bought back for its wholesale value. return to top
  • Will the Bookstore accept all textbooks during Book Buyback? Textbooks are bought back based on need and condition. If a book is not being used again, or has no wholesale value, it will not be bought back. Also, if a book is missing pages or either cover, has significant water damage, is an instructor's or international edition, etc., it will not be back. Management reserves the right to refuse any book buyback. return to top

  • Can I have my books sent to a campus location in another county? No, books that are ordered online may only be shipped to personal addresses. return to top
  • Do you charge shipping? Yes, all online orders are subject to shipping charges. All orders are delivered via FedEx, and are priced by weight and shipping service (Ground, 2nd Day, Next Day). Please note: 2nd Day and Next Day delivery times begin when FedEx receives your package, not necessarily when your order is placed. Orders are generally processed within 24-48 hours, however this time may vary depending on the time of the year and textbook availability. return to top
  • If I am a Distance Education student, how do I receive my textbooks? If you are not able to make it into the bookstore to purchase your books, you may order them online at www.centralcarolina.bkstr.com . Your books will then be shipped to you via FedEx. return to top
  • Do you ship to post office boxes? No, we do not ship to PO Boxes. All orders require a physical address for shipping. return to top
  • How long does it take to process an order? The typical time period is 24 to 48 hours, but varies depending on the time of year and textbook availability. return to top
