CCCC Leads to Four-Year Degree

"Attending CCCC first was the absolute best decision I ever made as far as my academics are concerned"

Shannon Bradley enrolled at Central Carolina Community College because she knew she wanted to get a four-year degree, but was unsure of a major. She also didn't feel very confident about her academic abilities.

"Attending CCCC first was the absolute best decision I ever made as far as my academics are concerned," Shannon said.

There were a lot of advantages at CCCC. She got the first two years of college completed without paying high tuition costs. All of her basic requirements were met at CCCC and she just had to take her major classes at a university. She was also able to prove to herself that she could do college work and that built her confidence.

Shannon received her Associate of Arts degree in 1993, transferred to Campbell University and received a bachelor's degree in psychology in 1996 and a master's in school counseling in 1999.

She has been a school counselor with Harnett County Schools for the past 14 years.

"I look back on my years spent at CCCC and I am so thankful for that time in my life," Shannon said. "The staff at CCCC was awesome! The instructors took the time to get to know me as a person and I felt like they really cared about me and my future. My personal experience there is why I encourage my own students to attend CCCC today."
